Galerie Metro freut sich, die zweite Einzelausstellung von Daniel Rode in der Galerie ankündigen zu dürfen. Die Arbeiten des Künstlers entstehen oftmals aus der Beobachtung von Zufälligem oder Unbeabsichtigten, aus der (Miss-)Interpretation von Gelesenem, Gesehenem oder Gehörtem.
Rodes Ausstellung „Work Is Our Only Solution“ wird durch die raumgreifende Installation mit dem gleichnamigen Titel bestimmt. Diese besteht aus einem hohen, schmalen Konstruktion aus Aluminiumprofilen, auf denen Leuchtstoffröhren scheinbar zufällig angeordnet sind. In früheren Installationen wurden die Leuchtstoffröhren zu Buchstaben und Sätzen angeordnet. In der neuen Arbeit bilden sie hingegen ein abstraktes Muster. Einerseits wird in dieser Anordnung die Informationsfunktion von Schrift aufgelöst, andererseits entsteht hier ein Bild von Ordnung im Verfall.
Im oberen Raum der Galerie hat der Künstler in verschiedenen Zeichnungen das Muster wieder aufgegriffen und mit seiner abstrakten Zeichenhaftigkeit gespielt.

Galerie Metro is pleased to announce the second solo exhibition by Daniel Rode at our gallery. The artist’s works are often based on coincidental and non-intentional phenomena. They are driven by (mis-)interpretations of things he read, saw or heard.
Rode’s exhibition “Work Is Our Only Solution“ is dominated by the space installation with the same title. It consists of a high and narrow construction out of aluminum racks, on which neon tubes seem to be ordered randomly. In former installations the neon tubes were ordered into alphabetic characters and sentences. In the new work in contrast they build an abstract pattern. On the one hand the informational funktion of writing become lost in this arrangement, on the other hand it creates an image of regularity in decadence.
In the upper space of the gallery the artist shows drawings from the pattern he used again to play with its abstract imagery.
