Mario Asef is a precise and yet poetic recorder of the fleeting and the mundane. His public interventions, photographs, videos and soundscapes emphasize moments of displacement and the disappearance of space and time. He often reflects aspects of his particular position as an artist, worker, tourist and other roles. In a subversive and humorous way, he manages to breach the rules of everyday life, exploring the construct of public spaces and public life.
